Even with hundreds of roaming agreements, operators are unable to achieve complete worldwide SMS connectivity. Regarding SMS sent to destinations they could not reach they have to:
- drop those SMS, leading to revenue loss and unsatisfied customers
- forward those SMS to a SMS Relay provider. As standard SMSC could not manage Least Cost Routing processing to several SMS Relay provider, a single or at most two SMS Relay providers are used and the prices are high
MCTEL SMS Center Hub, fully compliant with the SMS Hubbing recommendations of the GSM Association will solve this problem and allows the operators to expand their SMS coverage and perform significant savings. This solution may be supplied either to large operators with significant SMS traffic or to group of operators, allowing them to leverage on all their operations' roaming agreements.
