MCTEL successfully participates to ETSI SIM Cards Plugtests for high speed SIM OTA over IP

MCTEL has successfully completed the ETSI SIM Interoperability PlugtestsTM in June at ETSI.

As more and more data and applications are to be stored on the new (U)SIM cards, operators need to be able to efficiently and quickly manage these applications and data. The protocols currently used as Remote File Management (RFM) or Remote Application Management (RAM) are not efficient enough in sending large amount of data to answer operators' needs. Therefore, they have to use new protocols such as BIP (Bearer Independent Protocol) and CAT-TP which allow SIM OTA management to be performed at high speed over IP (through GPRS/UMTS mobile networks or through RFID), but are not widely supported.

MCTEL Device Management SIM OTA platform supports these latest protocols and has performed SIM interoperability workshop concerning "Fast Data Transfer over IP using BIP and CAT-TP". MCTEL DMC has demonstrated successful SIM OTA over IP with major SIM manufacturers.
