- Push Services: a content is forwarded to a mobile recipient. It could be a short message (SMS), an address (vCard by SMS), an appointment (vCalendar by SMS), a multimedia message (MMS), a Wap page including multimedia content (Wap-Push by SMS).
- Premium Services: the mobile user may request and pay for an information retrieved from his/her mobile. The user will be invoiced directly by its mobile operator and a part of the collected money will be refunded to the information provider.
In order to offer those services, SMS gateways with direct links with mobile network operators are needed. MCTEL builds and supplies such gateways but also offer an International Aggregation service to corporate not willing to setup and operate themselves those systems, at least at the beginning of their service opening.
MCTEL Aggregation service relies on MCTEL European Mobile Hosting Center, using fault tolerant carrier grade SMS Centers and Gateways directly connected with high speed link to numerous mobile network operators. Using MCTEL Aggregation service, existing computers of the company infrastructure could immediately and without expensive software and hardware immediately access mobile networks and offer Push and Premium services to the company workforce and customers.
Thanks to its high speed direct SS7 access to the worldwide telecommunication backbone, MCTEL is one of the only company able to offer to its corporate customers a single vanity shortcode number that could be used from most countries to access SMS services (e.g. "HILTON", "COCA"...).
Free tools and APIs are supplied to allow MCTEL customers to develop and set in operation their mobile services quickly and inexpensively: refer to some success stories.
